Sweet temptation – Prenzlauerberg
A perfect place for those with a sweet tooth. Fluffy pancakes, waffles and cake, the name of Zuckerfee (Sugar Fairy) is spot on. Next to this, they serve smoothies, juices, tea and good coffee.
You won’t find any hipsters here. What you will see in Zuckerfee is girlfriends and mothers with daughters, it’s mainly a female crowd. Strollers are not allowed, which makes sense, because the place is quite full already with furniture. The interior is very cozy and adapted to the time of year, so lots of autumn-y accessories, very nice! Zuckerfee has a living-room-like atmosphere.
Service is friendly, though not very attentive. We had to do a lot to attract the attention of the guy that was serving us. My friend and I chose The Sugarplum Fairy, a rich breakfast, with two pancakes with butter, warm berries, bacon, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, toast and fresh fruit. All served on an étagère.
Their pancakes were delicious, airy, almost cake-like. I also liked the other part of the breakfast. I was only disappointed about the quantity of the baked potatoes, just 6 miniature pieces, more garnish than side dish.
The cakes in the display looked delicious as well, perhaps something to try next time!
Of you are planning to go there during the weekend, make sure to make a reservation.
